Lady Mocs 13th After 2 Rounds At Mercedes-Benz Women’s Championship

Chattanooga shot a second round score of 302 (+14) to fall into 13th place at the Mercedes-Benz Women’s Championship at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville. The Lady Mocs trail 12th-place Kentucky by one shot.

Freshmen Maju Loza and Maria Salinas led the way again with two-over par 74s. Loza is now tied for 19th at two-over par 146, while Salinas is tied for 27th at 147 (+3).

Sophomore Christine Wolf shot her second straight 76 of the tournament to stand tied for 48th 152 (+8), while Emma de Groot is tied in 60th at 154 (+10). Junior Kayla Stewart is tied for 70th at 156 (+12).

North Carolina leads the event at one-over par 577 by two shots over Louisville at 579 (+3). The Cardinals shot a round-best 284 (-4) playing with the Lady Mocs. North Carolina State is third at 583 (+7).

UCF’s Marika Lendl, daughter of former professional tennis great Ivan Lendl, followed a first round 68 with a two-under par 70 to take control of the individual lead at 138 (-6). UNC’s Sydnee Crane is tied for second at 140 (-4) with Louisville’s Cindy LaCrosse who shot a five-under par 67.

Final round starts at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday with the Lady Mocs teeing off on No. 10. UTC will play with South Carolina and Denver. Live scoring can be followed at golfstat.com.
