Netta “Peggy” Clark Morton, 97, died on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008. She was born Aug. 31, 1910, in Clifty, Tn., on Cumberland Mountain.
She was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ and was retired from Chattanooga Glass Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Squirt” Morton, of Lookout Mountain; parents, Essie Parker and Marion R. Clark; sisters, Ruby Clark, Alma Hall and Margaret Fischer; brothers, Tommy Clark and Marian R. Clark Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Morton Eldridge, of Chickamauga, Ga.; grandchildren, Scott Eldridge, Robin Eldridge Mattos and Peggy Eldridge Brown; sister, Ruth Clark Massey; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday in the chapel with services to be officiated by Alwyn Ketner and Michael Morton. Pallbearers are Scott and Patrick Mattos, Keith Harris, Clark and Chandler Eldridge and Colton Brown.
Burial will be at Payne’s Chapel Cemetery on Lookout Mountain.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, and from 9:30 a.m. on Monday until the hour of service at Wann Funeral Home, St. Elmo.
