240 Employees Lose Job At La-Z-Boy Plant In Dayton posted November 6, 2008 Two hundred and 40 employees were given pink slips at the La-Z-Boy plant in Dayton, Tn., on Thursday. The workers were called into a break room and told they no longer had jobs, FOX News in Chattanooga reported. La-Z-Boy officials earlier announced that the firm was shutting down its cutting and sewing divisions all across the U.S. Officials said the jobs would move to Mexico. Officials said the Thursday cuts are related to a decline in the demand for recliners. La-Z-Boy is the largest employer in Rhea County. |
