National PFX Tour Brings Softball’s Legendary Professionals To Chattanooga posted November 7, 2008 This weekend’s 2008 Pro Fastpitch Extreme Tour in Chattanooga will pair over 50 youth softball teams and their aspiring young players with the sport’s most accomplished professionals. Here are some of the “pros” slated to participate. They will play in exciting exhibition games, provide skills clinics, and meet and mingle with the players. Festivities include professional games, an amateur tournament, opportunities to meet the pros, as well as participate in players’ skills clinics, coaches clinic, autograph meet ‘n greet sessions and more. Over 50 teams are participating in the age categories 10&U, 12&U, 14&U, and 16&U. PFX Tour President and CEO Tom McCarthy said, “The PFX Tour is the professional model in the sport of fastpitch softball that travels throughout the country and brings professional athletes to young players. It gives the young women a chance to meet the pros and compete at the same event. “This is more than a softball tournament. It is a fastpitch festival and we are excited by the great response from the teams that have signed up, the local softball community, and the super support from the City’s Parks Department.”. The public is welcome to watch. General admission is $10 per day.
