Sting Nets 8 Prostitutes, 2 Pimps, Including 1 Marketing His Wife

A prostitution sting on Friday in Highland Park and East Lake netted eight prostitutes and two pimps, including one who was renting out his wife.

The Chattanooga Police Department Special Investigations Unit conducted the vice operation jointly with officers from the Sector Two Patrol Division.

Detectives used undercover officers to pose as “johns” to ride the East Lake and Highland Park areas to be solicited for sex for money from suspected street prostitutes.

The women were arrested for prostitution, narcotics, drug paraphernalia and outstanding arrest warrants and the two men for promoting prostitution.

One of those men, Charlton Kyle, was promoting his wife, Jennifer Kyle, for prostitution, police said.

One of the females, Alice Langston, was out on bond for prostitution when she was arrested on this operation.

All the suspects were transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Those arrested were:

Stephanie Burris, 21, arrested in the 4100 block of Clio Avenue and charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and prostitution within 1 ˝ miles of a school.

Leslie Taylor, 38, arrested in the 1800 block of S. Willow Street and charged with prostitution within 1 ˝ miles of a school. She also had two outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear in court.

Jeffery Lamb, 45, arrested in the 2600 block of Rossville Boulevard and charged with promoting prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was promoting Alice Langston for prostitution.

Alice Langston, 51, arrested in the 2600 block of Rossville Boulevard and charged with prostitution within 1 ˝ miles of a school. Ms. Langston was out on bond from being arrested for prostitution in a sting a month ago.

Sharon King, 45, arrested in the 1800 block of S. Willow Street and charged with prostitution within 1 ˝ miles of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Norma Williams, 26, arrested in the 1700 block of S. Willow Street for obstructing a roadway. Police said she is a known prostitute who was flagging cars down and stopping them in the roadway.

Charlton Kyle, 38, arrested at 2727 Rossville Blvd. and charged with promoting prostitution and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kyle was promoting his wife, Jennifer Kyle, for prostitution.

Jennifer Kyle, 31, arrested at 2727 Rossville Blvd. and charged with prostitution within 1 ˝ miles of a school with her husband, Charlton Kyle.

Sheila Reel (aka Sheila Braziel), 41, arrested in the 3900 block of Calhoun Ave. and charged with prostitution within 1 ˝ miles of a school. Ms. Reel recently gave an interview to a local news station admitting she is a prostitute, police said.

Valerie Stevens, 31, arrested at 3901 Rossville Blvd. and charged with prostitution within 1 ˝ miles of a school.
