Area residents in need of a flu shot can get one in Hixson or Cleveland this week. Healthspring will be offering a flu shot clinic at the North River Civic Center in Hixson from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday. The North River Civic Center is located at 1009 Executive Drive.
HealthSpring’s Cleveland flu shot clinic will be Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cleveland YMCA at 220 Urbane Road N.E.
The flu shot is free to HealthSpring members and Medicare beneficiaries with original Medicare and costs $30 for all others. Pneumonia shots will also be available at the HealthSpring clinic.
HealthSpring Chattanooga Manager of Sales Operations and Marketing Suzanne Smith said, “Getting a flu shot is such a simple thing folks can do to protect their health through the flu season. We especially hope older adults or anyone at higher risk will come out and take advantage of this opportunity."
