Owner And Operator Of Gilbert Contractors For 40 Years

William F. Gilbert, 77, of Ooltewah, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, in a local health care facility.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas. Mr. Gilbert was a well-known self-employed contractor in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was owner and operator of Gilbert Contractors for over 40 years where he built high end custom homes and apartments.
He was a member of Fort Oglethorpe United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Mary Hicks Gilbert; and his wives, Bobbi Gilbert and Barbara Gilbert.
Survivors are his sons, Tim Gilbert, Lilburn, Ga., David Gilbert, Ringgold; daughter, Gigi Dotson, Chattanooga; brothers, Gordon Gilbert, Rossville, Ken Hogwood, Florida; grandchildren, Lauren and Ethan Gilbert, Lilburn, Gavin and Alya Gilbert, Ringgold, and Abby Dotson, Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joe Green officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday and after noon on Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
