Mary Sue Payton, 74, died on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.
She had lived in the Scottsboro, Al., area for most of her life, before moving to North Georgia in 2005 and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Louise Bearden; daughter, Rita Ward; grandson, Jeremy Benson; and the father of her children, Fred Evans.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sherry Evans, of Chickamauga; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Jean and Tommy Owens, Gaynell Evans and Brenda Evans, all of Chickamauga, and Deborah and Thomas Williams, of Trenton, Ga.; brother, Ray Bearden, of Scottsboro, Ala.; sister, Nell Hopkins, of Smyrna, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private.
Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
