Downtown Lights on Market Street, Christmas Season of 1938
The Chattanooga History Center will present Downtown Lights: Remembering Christmas in Chattanooga 1876-2008 at 7 p.m. on Dec. 16, at the English Rose Tea Room, 1401 Market St.

The fee of $12 includes a dessert and unlimited hot tea or coffee. Dr. Daryl Black, the History Center’s Curator, will facilitate. The registration deadline is Friday, Dec. 12.

Forty-three Chattanoogans, young, old, and in between, with a variety of life experiences, gathered at the English Rose Tea Room on Dec. 20, 2007, to remember Christmases past in our city. It turned out to be a very special evening, and was a wonderful, calming respite from the usual round of holiday activities, officials said.
