The Dalton Police Department is looking for information about a suspect who ripped off $120 from a clerk at the Quality Inn on College Drive.

On Nov. 17, the black man pictured from a surveillance camera, approached the desk clerk at the hotel asking for change for the vending machine. The suspect gave the clerk a $20 bill. After getting his change, he began to ask for different denominations, keeping the clerk talking and not letting her put the money back in the drawer before he asked for a different denomination. Keeping the clerk confused, the suspect eventually worked his way up to a $100 bill in the drawer, and instead took a pair of $50.00 bills. The man left with $120.

The suspect is a black male, who appears to be in his 40’s or 50’s, wearing a black leather jacket. The image was captured by the hotel surveillance system.

If you have any information about this crime, or the identity of the suspect, please contact Detective Matthew Locke at 706 278-9085, ext. 320.
