Mainx24, an annual event with 24-hours of Main Street activities, will be held from 8 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday morning. The day begins with a Pancake Breakfast with Horse and Carriage Rides benefiting Habitat for Humanity, followed by a full day of activities including a Southside gallery hop; a Chattanooga tree lighting; a visit with Santa; and several demonstrations by local artists. There's also a bicycle scavenger hunt, a fashion-show at the ChooChoo and midnight storytelling. The event concludes with an after-party in the wee hours with mimosas and eggs benedict. Downtown streets will sparkle during the Holiday Starlight Parade on Saturday. The 2008 Holiday Starlight Parade will proceed from Miller Park up Market Street to the Tennessee Aquarium beginning at 6 p.m. This event is produced by the Chattanooga Downtown Partnership and City of Chattanooga Parks and Recreation. With a succession of unique holiday entries, this event is known for its dazzling Yuletide theme featuring performing groups, marching bands, vehicles and floats all strung in twinkling lights.
