Mrs. Pedigo was a native of Putman County, Tn. She was a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and had a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for five years and was a teacher in Hamilton County for 31 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga and taught a preschool Sunday School class.
Mrs. Pedigo was preceded in death by Alfred Fay Pedigo, her husband of 52 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah P. Thompson of Columbia, Tn., sons, Paul F. Pedigo of Charlotte, N.C., and David L. Pedigo of Chattanooga; grandsons, Robert and Warren Thompson and Harrison, Richardson and Coleman Pedigo and sister, Edith F. Mayes of Chattanooga.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402, with Dr. Gary Carver officiating.
Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, at the First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway Avenue, Chattanooga, Tn. 37402 or the Alexian Brothers of the Southeast, 100 James Boulevard, Signal Mountain, Tn. 37377.
