Owner Of Cleveland Modular Home Business Facing Charges

Donald F. Wilson, owner of Wilson Classic Homes/Cleveland Home Center, was arrested Monday and charged with misapplication of payment, a Class E felony, and two counts of theft by worthless check over $1,000, Class D felonies by the Bradley County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation, which started in January, revealed that in late January Wilson received a payment of $30,000 for the installation of a Palm Harbor modular home and garage on property located near Murfreesboro. Part of the payment was to have the site prepared for the new home.

During the investigation it was determined there has been no transactions with the manufacturer of the modular home and the suspect had stopped payment on checks for $4,322 and $2,497.22 made out to contractors for site work and material, it was stated. A third subcontractor received no payment for the work the firm did.

Wilson, 59, of Charleston, was booked into the Bradley County Jail.

He was released after posting a $10,000 bond pending arraignment in General Sessions Court today.
