The Brainerd Panthers returned from their annual basketball trip to the Bahamas and hosted district opponant Polk County on Tuesday. Brainerd beat the Wildcats of Polk 65-36.
Fred Sturdivant led the Panthers offensive effort with 20 points. Anthony Broome had 12. Sturdivant also had 13 rebounds, 10 blocks and five steals.
Polk County was led by Marcus Sane, Luke Slivers and Marcus Taylor who all finished with six points.
Brainerd will host long time rival Howard on Friday. Girls are set to tip-off at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
