John was a native of Valparaiso, In., and a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 45 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. John retired from Combustion Engineering and was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Senior Neighbors, Combustion retirees and the American Welding Society. He was preceded in death by his wives, Pauline Dodd and Georgia Dodd. John is survived by his children, John Paul (Carol) Dodd, Betsy (Marty) Quinn and Ed (Wanda) Hullender; grandchildren, Heidi (Tony) Pocase, Christopher Palmer, Tripp and Trevor Hullender; nieces and nephews. Services for John will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel with Pastor Barry Hildebrandt officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday and 1-2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
