Another "Free" Government Giveaway: Cell Phones posted December 12, 2008 Just when I thought the government couldn't throw more tax money away, they come up with free cell phones. Yes folks, it seems that the state of Tennessee has decided that everybody should have at least 68 minutes a month of free air time on a free cell phone. Estimates are that 800,000 people in Tennessee will get a "free" cell phone and 68 minutes a month. Tennessee is the first state in the union to give away cell phones. Well, this is the land of the free, and Tennessee is leading the way. What next? Maybe free color television sets? I know - free satellite television service. Basic service only, of course.
