Hospice Of Chattanooga To Hold Memorial Service
posted December 16, 2008

Hospice of Chattanooga families will gather on January 12 to remember loved ones who have died over the past six months. The memorial service will include the lighting of candles and the reading of nearly 900 names of Hospice of Chattanooga patients who have died between June 1, 2008-November 30, 2008.

Families will also have the opportunity to visit with hospice staff that cared for their loved ones at a reception following the service.

The service will be held at First Baptist Church located at 401 Gateway Avenue at 5:30 p.m.

Hospice of Chattanooga is the only The United Way funded hospice program in the region and the largest hospice agency in East Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. The agency serves more than 2200 patients each year.

Since 1981, Hospice of Chattanooga’s programs have expanded to include perinatal and pediatric services, bereavement services for the community as well as children and adolescent grief camps at no charge to participants.

The perinatal program works with expectant parents whose infants will be stillborn or not live long after birth, while the pediatric program works with children who have a life-limiting illness.

For information call Connie Havis, Community Events Coordinator at 892.4289 ext.146.
