City Employees Donated 1,554 Hours Of Time Off To Keele Maynor

Keele Camille Maynor, who last week resigned as office assistant with the city's land development office, told Richard Hutsell, she is glad the ruse is over because "I don’t have to keep up the charade anymore" and she is getting help from a therapist.
Officials said fellow city employees had donated 1,554.28 hours of time off to Ms. Maynor, who used all of it in addition to her full allotment of 31 days per year.
Some employees donated upwards of a hundred hours.
City officials said their investigation of the hoax is still underway. Ms. Maynor could face a variety of charges.
She said in the email, "I am writing to let you know some things that have been going on with me over the last couple of weeks. Last Monday at 5:00 p.m. I went to Parkridge Valley Hospital as an outpatient and spoke with a counselor about some things that I had been confronted with and the people that confronted me gave me the number to the hospital, because they felt I needed some help and help I did need.
"I can’t go into all the details right now, but I can tell you the forefront of everything. I can’t go into the details because they have me seeing a therapist and I have only met with the therapist one on one once; so I don’t have all the answers but here is the forefront.
"In 2000 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and in 2001 my margins were clear after my first mammogram after the radiation treatment. So I have been literally cancer free since 2001.
"I started fabricating this story about cancer in 2003 and it has snowballed and finally came to a head. I am relieved for two reasons - I don’t have to keep up the charade anymore and I am finally getting some help to figure out why I did this in the first place. I wanted to let you know since you are my supervisor."
