Memorial Service Commemorates Losses From Abortion
posted January 5, 2009

A public memorial service recognizing the Sanctity of Human Life will be held Jan. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the National Memorial for the Unborn located at 6230 Vance Road, adjacent to AAA Women’s Services. They will meet to remember and honor the more than 50 million babies lost to abortion since 1973.

The service will mark the 36th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, which opened the doors for legalized abortion. The National Memorial for the Unborn began operations in 1996. Founded in 1994 and constructed on the former site of Chattanooga’s only abortion clinic, this site now brings hope and healing to thousands who have placed plates of remembrance on the Wall of Names, officials said.

The hour long service will include music, a message of hope, testimonies, and a solemn candlelight service.
