The UTC Department of Art 2009 Juried Student Exhibition will take place Tuesday, Jan. 6, through Sunday, Jan. 25 at the UTC Cress Gallery of Art. The Chattanooga Mocs basketball team will be in action twice this week when they host the Wofford Terriers on Thursday at 7 p.m., and the Furman Paladins on Saturday at 7 p.m. Gates open to the public at 5:30 p.m. on both days. The NorthShore Merchants Collective is sponsoring a "Biggest Winners on the NorthShore" contest. Two winners, one man and one woman, will undergo a transformation of body, mind and spirit for the New Year. Through Monday, Jan. 26, anyone 21 years of age or older may submit an essay of 50 words or less, stating why they, or someone they know, should win. The winners will be announced on Jan. 30 and will begin their transformation the first week in February.
