Get Romance Rolling on the Rails
by Penelope Soule
posted January 13, 2009

Looking for a special way to get your romance rolling this Valentine’s Day? The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum’s Valentine Dinner Train Ride will provide one of the most memorable holidays ever.

The museum is proud to offer this unique opportunity for patrons to enjoy not only a rail excursion but also a four-course dining experience aboard a restored 1924 dining car.

This year, dinner trains will run with two departure times from Grand Junction Depot, 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., on Feb. 7, Feb. 13 and Feb. 14. Trains will return to the Grand Junction Station at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Patrons may enjoy true vintage dining in either the Dining Car (four to a table) or the Eden Isle Office Car #98 for private parties up to eight. The Office Car boasts a dining room, lounge area and rear observation platform. Prices range from $55 per person for Dining Car seating to $650 per group for the Office Car.

Reservations are required, because the trips fill up quickly. When purchasing tickets, patrons will be given an opportunity to select their choice of entrée and dessert. Call 423-894-8028 for reservations.

Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is a 501(c)3, non-profit Tennessee educational corporation with a mission to preserve, restore and operate historic railway equipment. For more information and reservations, call The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum at 423-894-8028 or track them down at tvrail.com.
