Erik Almy caught this 41 lb blue Cat on Chickamauga Lake after it had a rough day somewhere else, possible caught up in a trot-line. The fish was released to fight more anglers and lines in the future.

Alex Baker, Jenny Adkins, Candace Whittler enjoyed the Youth-Only Waterfowl Hunt in Alabama on Feb. 7. Ross Malone said, "It was a fun time. They knocked a total of 8 birds. Collin killed his first-ever duck. I have been doing this youth hunt since it started in early 90's and this
was by far the largest turnout I have ever witnessed. It was great to see
this many kids out with their parents and friends. The two young ladies
with us could both shoot and I may say it was great witness them our in
the field on a cold morning working as hard as any of us to bag a duck. Until next year, be safe and remember to share the passion."

Ramsey Brock, a fishing guide with Choo Choo Fly & Tackle, shows off a very respectable brown trout taken on a recent excursion to the Elk River in Middle Tennessee. Brock said, "The trout waters are starting to turn on with all this warm weather and the bugs are starting to hatch."

7 year old Harrison resident Kyle Payne caught this 5 lb striper on
Saturday, March 28 in Ellijay, Ga while fishing with his Dad, local
contractor Rick Payne.

11-year-old Parker Swan harvested his first turkey on opening day (March 28 at Dunaway Hunting and Fishing Club near Dunlap. Parker, who has already taken two 8-point deer there, anchored the bird with one shot from his .20 gauge shotgun. He had crawled on his stomach about 50 yards to get into position for the killing shot. His comments: "This Rocks!"

Jade Smith caught this huge 6-pound-plus smallmouth fishing with his grandfather, Tony Smith recently. The fish was taken in the tailwaters of Chickamauga Dam.

James Brown from Cleveland, Tenn. called in and his first turkey on April 5 in McMinn County.

Laura Williams with Chattanooga Shooters Supply took two gobblers with one shot recently (in Texas). Laura said, "It was very exciting for me. I am a beginner right now, having hunted deer, wild boar and turkey."
Laura said she took the pair of birds with a new Mossberg 935 w/pistol grip, HeviShot #6's on the Stasney’s Cook Ranch in Albany, Texas!

Chuck Smick writes, "Here is a photo of me and a nice wild hog that I shot with my 80 lb. pull Howard Hill longbow, GrizzlyStik arrow and Grizzly broadhead. It was a TOUGH Hunt due to the heat, and definately challenging spot and stalk hunt, in rough terrain. I made a pass through shot and the hog went 15 yards."

Beau Matlock with the Chattanooga Fire Marshal's office caught this 9-pound Largemouth Bass on Chickamauga Lake recently fishing with David Anderson on his boat, "Fire Escape."

Shane Cobb took this monster gobbler in Bradley County. It weighed 22
pounds, had an 11-inch beard and 1-1/8 spurs.

Barry Derrick from McMiin County, Tenn. writes, "I took my Grandson, Mason Warner of Etowah, Tenn., turkey hunting. About 12:00 we heard this turkey gobble. I called to it and it came in. He dropped it stone dead with one shot from his 20 gauge. First turkey. 19 1/4 pounds, 10 1/4 inch beard, 1 inch spurs. Great turkey in anybody's book."

Ronnie Flora writes, "crappie caught from Kentucky River by my grand kids and two friends. Zachary Collins, Kaylee Collins, Poppie Flora and Tyler and Taylor Natiary. "They had a ball. Take the kids fishing. They will love it !"

Charlie Lowery writes, "My daughter was so amazed by the gobbler I shot last week, she pleaded with me to take her this Saturday so she could see what it was all about. So we did, and she really paid attention. She was really quiet and still during the whole hunt. We had six jakes come in and I almost let them go... but decided I better take one since she has been so pateint. I'm putting the fan together for her to hang in her room! She is 6 years old and maybe next year or so I get her broke in on a gun."

Kirk Gardner from Cleveland writes, "I went fishing with Mike Miller (from Rossville, Ga.) on Wednesday, May 13th, and he caught this 5 1/2-pound largemouth. Mike was fishing on Chickamauga Lake with Texas rigged lizards."

Bill Swan writes, "I took Parker (Swan), Mason (Swan) and Jacob Bailey (on the left with braces) fishing recently at Dunaway. After dodging a few showers we ended up with 14 bass. I have made 5 trips and caught 123 bass in two weeks. Fishing is great!
