WhyKnow Changes Name And Focus To OnPoint
posted April 8, 2009

WhyKnow, the well-known abstinence program for teens, has changed its name, broadened its focus and taken on a whole, new look thanks to Maycreate Idea Group. WhyKnow is now OnPoint.

A kick-off event with over 1,000 teens, parents and supporters in attendance was held at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The guest speaker was Dr. Benjamin Carson, a pediatric neurosurgeon and winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

One of the evening’s moments was when 400 teens, captured on-camera, shouted the new name in unison, as they were seen on big screen monitors in the next room by parents and supporters.

As to the new direction for the group, in the tech and media-driven world of teenagers, smart decision-making means making smart choices. It’s all about providing teens with the tools and skills needed to successfully navigate life.

“The idea,” said Lesley Scearce, executive director of OnPoint, “is to get teens involved in new, positive directions that lead to a healthier, more fulfilling life. Without a re-naming, re-branding and re-positioning, this new direction wouldn’t have been possible. And Maycreate Idea Group was the creative force behind it all.”

The event was highlighted with a look at the new name, logo and promotional materials created by Maycreate. The result is new graphics, new colors, a new message and a new tag line—“Direction for life.”

OnPoint works closely with schools, churches and civic organizations to equip teens to be sexually abstinent by giving in-depth knowledge, ongoing support and life skills for a successful future.

Maycreate Idea Group helps clients identify the quintessence or heart of their brand—defining their “true difference.” That difference is then communicated in an own able and memorable idea that plants an actionable image in the minds of consumers.
