The Lady Indians (10-1) remained perfect at 7-0 in district play and will face Grundy County April 28 for the regular season championship. Burgess reached via fielder's choice in the fifth inning and later scored on another single by Dawson. In the sixth, junior Chelsey Tabor tripled and scored on Mitchell's hit. Mitchell then scored after an error and a single by Cooley drove in senior Sammantha Mills, who had walked. Cooley finished 3-4 while Mitchell and Dawson each went 2-4. Dawson drove in three runs, with Mitchell and Burgess each scoring twice. East Ridge totaled five baserunners, all on hits as Sequatchie did not commit an error or walk a batter. The Lady Pioneers' best chance to score was in the fifth. Amanda Flynn led off with a single and was moved to third with a bunt and another hit. She was stranded after a strikeout by SCHS junior Dawson. Flynn had two hits, one a double, and Abby Johnson was also 2-3. Sequatchie's Dawson earned the shutout, striking out seven.
