10 Chattanooga Venues Selected As National Day Of Prayer Sites
posted May 5, 2009

Ten Chattanooga venues have been selected as local sites for the National Day of Prayer on May 7.

Kevin McNelly of Chattanooga Matters said, "On May 7 at noon, we hope you will join with those assembling at any of these locations. The prayer time will be divided into 10-minute segments with each segment focusing on a topic of concern for our nation. There will be a short break between each segment for those who are unable to stay for the entire hour to come and go. The prayer time will end at 1 p.m."

He said tens of thousands of prayer events are planned across the country that day to honor the 58th Annual National Day of Prayer.

He stated, "In churches, parks and on courthouse steps, citizens will be praying for our nation; government leaders, media, military, schools, churches, businesses and families."

Mr. McNelly said Chattanooga Matters (www.chattanoogamatters.org) "has a long history of being a catalyst for prayer in our city, as well as for our state, by calling together the Christian community in a unified effort. Ten venues, throughout metropolitan Chattanooga, have been selected with the hope one will be close to you and that you can participate in a mid-day prayer for our nation."
