Joshua Rucker of Grove Street told police his ex-girlfriend came after him with a crowbar.
He said they were standing by a 1997 Dodge Neon that belongs to another female, Tauren Davenport, when Tyqual Strickland grabbed the crowbar out of a black SUV.
He said she came after him with the tool, but he was able to get both hands on it and ward her off.
He said she regained control of the crowbar, then went to the back of the Neon and used it to smash in the rear window.
Ms. Strickland was charged with aggravated domestic assault and vandalism.

Hayley Casteel said her 2005 Honda Tiburon was at the Community Church parking lot on Lee Highway when someone shattered the rear passenger side window.
She said the thief quickly used her credit card at the Shell station on Shallowford Road and the Kangaroo on East Brainerd Road.

Tequila Watkins of W. 14th Street Court said she came home to find the window air conditioning unit had been removed.
She said someone ransacked part of her residence and took a 27" flat-screen TV.
By the time police arrived, they said the air conditioner had been put back into place.

Jimmy Rogers of Long Street said someone broke out the front passenger side window on his 2004 Lexus RX330.
They took his Apple computer with case.

Police checked out a report of a woman in a pink dress on the porch of a house on Wilcox Boulevard. She was described as having her mouth open and her head back.
Karen Evans said she was just taking a nap.
