Collegedale Academy students Aubrey Lang, Alex Czerkasij and Caleb McQuistan volunteered their time at this year’s open house event, serving fresh lemonade to guests.
Over 400 guests braved the cold rain and wind to attend Greenbriar Cove Retirement Community’s first open house celebration and tour of homes on Sunday.

The community, located at 4607 Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, welcomed guests from as far away as Michigan and from all over the Tri-State region.

“Despite the cold and wet day, visitors still lined up to tour homes and get a glimpse of the rewarding lifestyle and exceptional amenities we offer at Greenbriar Cove,” said Greg A. Vital, president and chief executive officer of Independent Healthcare Properties, LLC, the developer of Greenbriar Cove Retirement Community.

“We were extremely pleased to have such a successful turnout. This event marks the first of many where guests can take a look at the enriched lives our residents experience on a daily basis.”

Currently, approximately 45 percent of the homes and lots are sold in Greenbriar Cove.

Located adjacent to the Greenbriar Cove master-planned retirement community are The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Center of Excellence and Life Care Center of Collegedale, a skilled nursing community. Greenbriar Cove offers tranquil surroundings among 100 acres of meadows and lakes, with 17 acres dedicated as parkland and conservation areas.

Amenities include a community center with indoor heated pool and fitness center, fitness trail, on-site nature program coordinator, certified fitness instructor, fine dining, Bistro cafe, golf cart paths and community garden.

Guests enjoyed meeting local radio personalities Luther Masingill and Gene Lovin of Sunny 92.3 as well as J103’s The Lone Ranger. Jericho Brass provided live music. As part of the special open house events, guests viewed the development’s five neighborhoods and took a tour inside its spacious patio homes, senior rental apartments and on-site assisted living residence–Morning Pointe at Greenbriar Cove.

“We were pleased to open our doors to such a diverse group of individuals who understand the growing need for a community that offers a continuum of senior care services,” said Shari McQuistan, executive director of Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove.
