Northwestern Technical College will add the word Georgia to its name, another 100 programs, and three more campuses in just one month. Despite the change, its continuing to focus its attention on the students of Northwest Georgia.
The last two weeks of May saw $4,500 land in the hands of nine high schools students from across Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker County. The work of the Northwestern Technical College Foundation helps make the scholarships possible.
“This college is about the success of this area,” said Jason Gamel, director of College Development at Northwestern Technical College. “We educate our neighbors and train them for a future here in their backyard or around the world. We want to be a part of it and plan to continue to focus on the future of our students.”
The recipients of the Northwestern Technical College Foundation scholarship this year are Thomas Hulse, Chattooga; Ragan Stewart, Dade County; Brittany Samuelson, Gordon Lee; Ashley Symmonds, Heritage; Doris Gooch, LaFayette; Bailey Jones, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe; Brittany Toran, Ridgeland; Shoni Fugate, Ringgold, and Brandon Wilson, Trion.
The Northwestern Technical College Foundation was formed in 1988. Summer Quarter at Georgia Northwestern Technical College begins online or on-campus July 6. For more information on the Northwestern Technical College Foundation, contact Jason Gamel at (706) 764-3810.
