Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union employees welcomed the media to Riverbend Beach Thursday morning in showcasing the company's 2009 exhibit for festivalgoers. The beach will feature a 150 sand sculpture which will be constructed during the nine day festival which begins Friday night at Ross' Landing. Visitors can also register for a five day, six night trip to the Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront Hotel.

In cooperation with the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, students at the Chattanooga School for the Creative Arts have painted several tabletops for the TVFCU stage at this year's Riverbend. The tabletops will be auctioned off following the Festival with the proceeds benefitting the school's Art Department.

The TVA Showcase Stage will be located across from the Coca-Cola Stage and will continue to feature Chattanooga area musicians. Funk band BaaddMojo (5:30-6:30) and rock group Bud Lightnin' (6:45-7:45) will be the Showcase performers on Friday's opening night of Riverbend 2009.

The U.S. Army helicopter simulators will be among the many exhibits on the Riverbend grounds when the 29th annual Festival begins tomorrow night at Ross' Landing and concludes on June 13W.

These Riverbend Beach fans will be a cool item at this year's festival. The first ever Riverbend Beach will feature a sand sculpture signifying the events of the Festival. After the close of the Festival on June 13, the sand will be donated to recreational baseball fields throughout the area.

Intec employee Michael Martin was among the hundreds of workers making last minute preparations Thursday morning on the eve of the 29th Riverbend Festival which begins tomorrow evening at Ross' Landing. The Soddy Daisy High School band will march through the main gate located at Chestnut and Second Streets at 4:30 to kick off the nine day event. The SDHS band, which will be among the participants in the 2010 Tournament of Roses Parade, will perform on the Unum Stage at 6:30 with country legend Willie Nelson headlining on the Coca-Cola Stage at 9:30.
