Bill Payne Chosen As Outstanding Engineer Of Year posted June 23, 2009 The Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers has selected Chattanooga City Engineer Bill Payne as the 2009 Outstanding Engineer of the Year for the state of Tennessee. Mr. Payne was recognized for his contributions to TSPE and the engineering profession at their annual meeting held in Murfreesboro. “Bill has been instrumental in coordinating and overseeing work at the Enterprise South site for the new Volkswagen facility,” said Mayor Ron Littlefield. “It is an honor to have Bill working for the city of Chattanooga. He is an exceptional employee.” TSPE is a professional association with about 1,000 individual members including professional (licensed) engineers, engineering associates, engineering interns, and engineering students. TSPE members represent all technical disciplines and all practice areas including construction, education, industry, government, and private practice. “The entire city of Chattanooga Public Works family is extremely proud of Bill and his many accomplishments working for the betterment of our community and all its citizens,” said city of Chattanooga Public Works Administrator Steve Leach. “We congratulate him on this well deserved honor.” |
