Alma L. Sanders, 76, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in a local hospital.
She retired from Erlanger hospital as a nurses' assistant and was a faithful member of Orchard Park Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Sanders Jr.; parents, Garfield and Mollie Yates; son, David E. Sanders; and daughter, Margaret L. Hinton.
Survivors are her children, Saundra (Robert) Turney, Civi Ice, Norma (Victor) Mason, Patricia (Douglas) Johnson, Gilda (Sam) Petty, Donald (Yvonne) Sanders, Princess (Freddie) Brooks and Patricia Yon, all of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Frankie) Yates, of Indianapolis, In., Thomas Yates, of Memphis and Freddie Yates, of Chattanooga; sisters, Shirley Gordon, of Chattanooga and Evelyn (Artie) Davis, of Atlanta; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at Orchard Park Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Willie Black officiating.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
