I commute to work daily, roughly, 26 miles. I ride motorcycles and love to
camp on them. I've had some wonderful trips this way. I eat out often. I go
to all the places most adults go. I own a cell phone and have a concealed
carry permit.
On any given trip to or from home, to most anywhere either business or
pleasure, I'm subject to far more danger from drivers on their cell phones than their concealed weapons.
How many more people in this state are going to die before the cell phone
companies are held responsible for it? How powerful a lobby is it that can spend millions of dollars for commercials without saying one word about using them responsibly? How powerful a lobby are they that statistics of their involvement in accidents isn't known? They're just waiting for a landmark case aren't they?
I think auto accidents, that cell phones play a significant part of, are a terrible danger to our public health.

Mr. Kerby,
While I do agree that talking on a cell phone is dangerous, I do not think that the cell phone companies, manufacturers, or providers should be held responsible for the driver that kills or harms someone because they are talking while driving. Since you are a handgun owner, that would be the equivalent of holding handgun manufacturers/sellers responsible for the deaths associated with shootings.
Now I am with you that someone should be held responsible for this action, but that starts with the law makers and enforcers, not the cell phone companies. Hold people responsible for their own actions not the providers of a service.
