EPB Customers To See Decrease In Cost Of Electric Power
posted June 30, 2009

EPB residential customers will see a decrease in the cost of electric power due to TVA’s quarterly Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA), on any bill printed on or after July 1, officials said.

It marks the third FCA decrease in a row, following the past two quarters’ decreases for all bills that were printed on or after Jan. 1 and on or after April 1.

On average, most residential customers use about 1300 kilowatt hours per month – more in the summer and winter, less in the spring and fall. With TVA’s upcoming FCA, a bill for 1300 kilowatt hours will be about $3.90 less than it would have been this quarter, for the same amount of power used.

EPB officials said, "However, depending on weather and, therefore, how much energy an individual uses, TVA’s decrease may or may not make much difference on a customer’s bill. That’s why EPB suggests customers visit them online at www.epb.net for energy savings tips. Residential customers are also encouraged to schedule a free EPB Home Energy Audit by calling (423) 648-1EPB (1372)."
