Rev. Clark was born and raised in Grantville, Ga., before moving to Chattanooga. He was pastor of First Baptist Church of Lookout Mountain for six years and then Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served for 34 years before retiring. Rev. Willie D. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Willie H. and Dora; brother, Russell; sister, Mary Ellen; and daughter, Cynthia Clark-Smith. He is survived by his wife, Callie J. Clark; daughters, Deborah and Sabrina; sons, Anthony (Barbara) Vincent (Meshona), Willie (Patricia) and Douglas; grandchildren, Keisha, Ariel, Alex, Anthony II, Michelle, Neaisha and Pierre; son-in-law, Willie Smith; brothers, William (Sylvia), James (Juanita), Emmit (Janice); sisters, Nellie Robinson and Mattie Sims; brother-in-law, Sidney (Francis) Eberhart; sister-in-law, Nancy Montgomery; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Homegoing Celebration will be held on July 6, at 11 a.m. at Orchard Knob Baptist Church. Interment will be in National Cemetery. There will be a worship service held on Sunday, July 5, at 7 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 12-7 p.m. on Sunday at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995. |
