How to Order a Custom Rifle
Draper & Mann Set Sights on Book
posted July 1, 2009

A new book covering all aspects of custom hunting rifles, Selecting and Ordering a Custom Hunting Rifle , will hit bookshelves soon. David Draper has been charged with the task of editing the book and Richard Mann is serving as contributing author and editorial adviser.

"When I was asked to edit this book, I told them they had the wrong guy," said Draper. "I thought a rifle was just a tool. After taking on the project and handling one of Charlie's rifles, I now understand there's something special about a custom gun. In fact, I'm now the proud owner of a Sisk Point Five."

"I asked Draper and Mann to become involved because of their experience and the quality work they deliver," said Charlie Sisk. "Both are avid hunters and great story tellers. Mann is more technical but has the ability to convey technicalities in an entertaining way. Draper adds a flare to the book with his editing skills and practical understanding of the reader."

An avid hunter and accomplished writer, Draper spent his youth hunting pheasants on his family's farm in Gurley, Neb. The ensuing years chasing his passions for travel and the outdoors has taken him from the Gambia River to the Brooks Range. Draper serves as Associate Editor of Cabela's Outfitter Journal and has written for Sports Afield, Petersen's Hunting, Successful Hunter and other magazines. He co-edited Cabela's - A History and served as editor of Two Hearts, One Passion by Dick, Mary and David Cabela. He and his two black Labs live in the house his grandparents built in western Nebraska.

Born and raised in the West Virginia hills, Richard Mann has hunted from the Montana mountains to the Green Hills of Africa. As a soldier and a police officer Mann obtained numerous military and law enforcement certifications in small arms training. He is a contributing editor for Shooting Illustrated, Successful Hunter, Gunhunter and FMG's Special Editions and was the compiling author of the book, Rifle Bullets for the Hunter .

Selecting and Ordering a Custom Hunting Rifle is scheduled to release November 2009 and will be the perfect addition to the library of anyone looking to order his or her first or fortieth custom hunting rifle.
