Police Blotter: Woman Defends Self With Knife, Cooking Pot
posted July 1, 2009

A woman on Jeffrey Lane told police she defended herself with an 8" knife and a cooking pot when a man came after her who regularly threatens to kill her.

Michelle Adams said she was asleep when she heard a noise in her living room. She said she got up and found Derek Jones, the father of her children, there.

She said he told her, "I'm gonna kill you."

Ms. Adams said after she got the knife and pot, he attacked her with his fists.

She said she hit him with the pot, breaking the handle, but he continued to attack her. She then stabbed him several times until he got control of her arms and directed the knife toward her neck and chest.

She then bit his arm and he responded by biting her back, leaving several large bite marks.

She then stabbed him in the leg.

An assault warrant was issued for Jones.

James Evans said he was hanging out with Pamela Jones on N. Hawthorne St. when there was a knock on the door.

Before Mr. Evans could get to the door, it was kicked in by Anthony Jones, who proceeded to push him to the floor.

He said Jones then headed for Ms. Jones - his ex-wife - and hit her numerous times. He knocked her into a coffee table, breaking the glass.

He then tore her clothes off and began dragging her out toward her car that was parked outside.

After police were called, Jones ran off into nearby woods.

He was charged with burglary and two counts of assault.

Nalley was charged with assault and taken to jail.
