St. Barnabas Awarded $5,000 Opportunity Fund Grant posted July 1, 2009 St. Barnabas recently received a $5,000 grant from The Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee for the purchase of rehabilitation therapy equipment. “This grant will enhance our already successful rehabilitation therapy program, furthering our mission as a healing ministry,” said President and CEO David Wildgen. The funds are disbursed through the Diocese’s Opportunity Fund, a social ministries grant program. This is the third grant St. Barnabas has received from the Fund. St. Barnabas Rehabilitation Services Manager Rob Nelson has his shopping list ready. “The funds will enable us to enhance our service outcomes,” said Mr. Nelson. “Specialized treatments require special equipment, and acquisition of such will help us to continue meeting our objective of transitioning patients to home.” St. Barnabas offers a comprehensive rehabilitation therapy program to short-term patients, as well as skilled nursing, assisted living, independent retirement, and home and community-based services on two downtown campuses. St. Barnabas is Chattanooga’s only independent, non-profit continuing care retirement community. |
