Jakey “Jake” Hancock, 59, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in an area nursing home.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Georgia Hancock; a sister, Anna Whittenburg; and a brother, Oliver G. Hancock.
He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Gilbert, of Ohio and grandchildren, Matthew Kyle Hancock and Bridget Gilbert; two sisters, Evelyn (Harold) Hamm, of Murfreesboro; Janice Montgomery, of Graysville; and two brothers, James C. Hancock, of Primm Springs and Doyle Ray Hancock, of Greenville, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, at 3:30 p.m. CDT in the chapel. Burial will be in Rigsby Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Highway 127, Pikeville.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. CDT until funeral time.
