Signal Mountain To Hold Fourth Of July Parade
posted July 2, 2009

Participants in the annual Signal Mountain Community Fourth of July Parade will begin assembling on James Boulevard in front of Alexian Village at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and will begin their walk at 10. In addition to the hundreds of people marching in the parade, many hundreds of others will line the roads leading from Alexian to the Country Club.

The route will follow James to Tennessee and then to Texas before getting back on James and on to the Country Club where the community can enjoy the Lions Club barbecue and other entertainment before the evening is concluded with a fireworks display at dusk.

Anyone can join the parade, from babies in arms to older adults who might ride in one of the vehicles. There will be horses and dogs, babies in strollers, children riding in wagons, on bicycles or on their father's shoulders. There's usually a fire engine or two, cars and trucks from various organizations and led on foot by a Boy Scout troop.
