The Jordan Thomas Foundation announced that the new position of director will be held by Janet Kelley Jobe beginning July 1.
Ms. Jobe brings an extensive background of successful fundraising for non-profits to the foundation. She will be responsible for administrative management, public relations, marketing, and fund development for the foundation.
In addition to active involvement in community activities, Janet serves on numerous boards including the Moccasin Bend Girl Scouts Council and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, recently as past-president, as well as past member of YMCA Camp Ocoee Board.
Ms. Jobe, a local Chattanoogan, graduated from Agnes Scott College and received her MBA from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
In addition to work experience in corporate finance, insurance, and real estate, she has several certifications including CFRE – Certified Fund Raising Executive.
The Jordan Thomas Foundation was founded by Jordan Thomas in 2005, at age 16, after a boating accident where he lost both legs below the knee. The foundation provides prosthetic devices for underserved children and adolescents with amputations, offers support and counseling for individuals and families, and advocates for equality in facing the visible challenges of life.
It has three main goals: access to prosthetic devices for underserved children and adolescents, support for amputees and families, and advocacy for awareness of needs of amputees along with financial support for prosthetics.
