Signal Mountain Swimmers Remain Unbeaten
Green Giants Now Focused On Defending City Meet Title

The hard part is out of the way and the fun part is about to begin for the Signal Mountain Green Giant swim team.

The Green Giants finished the Chattanooga Area Swim League unbeaten with seven straight wins after cruising to a 479-245 victory over the Hamilton YMCA Thursday night.

McKinnon Sowell, Abby Bittel, Sam McHugh and Sarabeth King all tallied 19 points to lead the victors.

Mary Beth Pike and Andrew Tallent were the leading scorers for Hamilton with 17 points apiece.

The Green Giants now focus their attention on next week's City Meet, which will be held at Baylor.

The diving portion will be held on Wednesday while the swimming will take place on Friday and Saturday.

The Green Giants have won the last three titles and are heavy favorites to win again next week.

High-point scorers for Signal Mountain Thursday included:
19 points -- McKinnon Sowell, Abby Bittel, Sam McHugh, Sarabeth King;
18 points -- Jamee Mitchum;
17 points -- Jane Wilson, Lannom Sowell, Jacob Best;
15 points -- Devin Naidoo, Thomas Porter, Madison Watson, Elizabeth Sosna, Jacob Sosna;
14 points -- Riley Engels, Mathias Porter, Daniel Sawyer, Matt Limerick;
13 points -- Drew Lowry, Hallie Hunt;
12 points -- Grace Hall;
11 points -- Eleonore Porter, Katherine Ward, Andrew Burkus, Sydney Leech;
10 points -- Emilee Cole, Lindsey Limerick, Katie McHugh.

High-point scorers for Hamilton YMCA included:
17 points -- Mary Beth Pike, Andrew Tallent;
16 points -- Jake Marcum;
11 points -- Calle Turk, Brooke Thomas;
10 points -- Derik Turk.
