Comcast Presents TruTv’s Digital Fingerprinting For Kids
posted July 13, 2009

Comcast has partnered with TruTV to present a workshop featuring Digital Fingerprinting and safety tips for children of all ages at the Comcast Stage located at center court in Hamilton Place Mall on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Digital Fingerprinting is a child safety program which offers free digital fingerprinting for children around the country. Its mission is to help prevent crimes against children by providing parents and guardians with tools such as digital fingerprints and safety tips. Thousands of children have been fingerprinted since the program’s initiation in 2002.

Chattanooga Comcast Vice President/General Manager Valerie Gillespie said, “I am pleased that Comcast is partnering with TruTV to provide this valuable service for families of Hamilton County and the surrounding communities.”

Each child receives an 8x10 printout with photo, fingerprints and places for personal information such as height, weight, hair color and identifying marks. While doing back to school shopping, stop by the Comcast stage and learn how you and your child can become more safety conscious while having fun at the same time.

For additional information concerning the fingerprinting project, call Laurie Shipley, Comcast director of public affairs at (423) 296-2060.
