CHADD Hosts Free Advocacy Training For Parents posted September 6, 2009 Chattanooga CHADD (Children & Adults with Attention/Hyperactivity Disorder) will host a basic rights workshop by STEP, Inc (Support and Training for Exceptional Parents). The workshop is designed for parents of children in special education or that might need special education, as provided for by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Officials said, "Come and gain a working knowledge of special education laws, including your role in the development of an appropriate individual education program (IEP) and how to be an effective partner with the school team in the process." It will be Tuesday 6-9 p.m. at Hickory Valley Christian School/Church, Education Building, 6605 Shallowford Road. Enter in back of the building off of David Lane.
