Notre Dame Boys, Signal Mountain Girls Earn Region Golf Titles
Signal Mountain's Britt Wins Individual Title

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Notre Dame's boys and Signal Mountain's girls earned Region 4-A/AA golf championships here Monday at the Cookeville Golf Club.

Signal Mountain's Jordan Britt (73) and DeKalb County's Payne Denman (69)won the individual titles. Denman won the state title last year.

The top four boys and girls not on either of the championship teams qualified for the state tournament Oct. 13-14 in Murfreesboro.

Britt, a transfer from GPS, led Signal Mountain to a team score of 156, seven shots better than Livingston Academy. Sarah Dolomovich shot an 83 for the Lady Eagles and Haley Davidson contributed an 89.

Kyle Wittler, Notre Dame's only senior, led the Irish to a 295 with his 71. Notre Dame's David Weeks and Todd Krum were part of a three-way tie for fourth at 74.

Jack Noonan added a 76 for the Irish and Kyle Holley shot 77.

Area girls qualiying for the state tournament as individuals were Notre Dame's Maddi Everts (79), Sequatchie County's Kelsey Weiner (79 and Grundy County's Loren Pickett (84).
