Next Consolidated Plan Process Public Meeting Is Oct. 26

The Department of Neighborhood Services and Community Development, acting on behalf of the city of Chattanooga is responsible for the administration of Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Shelter Grant, and the HOME Investment Partnership Act Funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

In accordance with HUD requirements under regulation 24 CFR 570.301 (b)(3), and Section 104 (a)(3) of the Housing Act of 1974, two community meetings will be held for the development of the 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan. These regulations require entitlement cities to carry out citizen participation in conjunction with the Consolidated Planning Process.

Key areas of focus are homelessness, impediments to fair housing, affordable housing, public housing, and economic development and job creation.

The meetings will last about two hours and are scheduled for Oct. 26, 5:30-7:30 p.m., and Jan. 7, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Development Resource Center-1st Floor Conference Room, 1250 Market St.
