The social will feature "Rememberances of WESTPAC" with a Hawaiian theme. Hors d'Oeuvres and a cash bar will be complemented by Jazz entertainment from the Ben Friburg Duo.
The cost is $30 at the door. Reservations may be made by calling Noah Long at 886-3820.
WESTPAC is the U.S. Navy's abbreviation for the Western Pacific Ocean and includes most of the islands and coastal areas in that region. The area is routinely patrolled by the U.S. Navy, so there are sure to be many interesting stories to hear.
Membership in the Navy League of the United States is open to anyone interested in supporting the U.S. Sea Services. Its mission is to educate the community about the importance of Sea power to our nation's survival and continued prosperity.
The Greater Chattanooga John J. Spittler Chapter directly sponsors the crew and families of the U.S.S. Tennessee (SSBN 734) and provides local support for the Chattanooga Naval Sea Cadet Corps youth program and Howard High School's Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
