Lady Flames 14th In Austin-Peay Tourney posted October 20, 2009 CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - After firing a 355 on Tuesday, the Lee women's golf team completed the fall season with a two-day total of 705 and a 14th-place finish in the F&M APSU Invitational. Playing at the challenging 5,960-Yard Clarksville County Club, the Lady Flames could never get into high gear in the 36-hole tournament. Morehead State (Ky.) walked away with the team title (620). Houston Baptist was second (633) and Belmont University (639) finished third. Megan Bradford of Tennessee Tech top individual honors with a 6-over 150. Marisa Kamelgarn and Paige Lausier, both of Morehead, tied for second at 152. A total of 93 golfers and 17 teams took part in the tournament. Lee, playing against all NCAA Division I schools, was paced by Amanda Martin, who fired a 86-84 - 170 and tied for 46th place. Kristin Bourg followed with a 174 and tied for 63rd. Amanda DeJiacomo posted a 178 and tied for 71st, while Sloane Skinner improved her first-day total by one stroke and tied for 79th (183). The biggest improvement for Lee came from No. 5 golfer Chelsea Rakestraw. She tied for 83rd at 189. |
