Six candidates on Lookout Mountain, Ga. up for election on Nov. 3 will speak at a ''candidates forum'' Tuesday evening at the Lookout Mountain Methodist Church from 7-8:45 p.m.
The forum is hosted by the Methodist Church at 1300 Lula Lake Road, located at the corner of Lula Lake Road, McFarland Road and Red Riding Hood Road and the League of Women Voters of Georgia (LWVGA).
Candidates for mayor are current mayor Tommy Gifford and former town councilman Bill Glascock.
The four candidates running for three council seats are current council members David Bennett, Dennis Eischeid and Sandy Gothard, along with Blair Ramey.
A moderator will host the forum which will have the candidates for the offices of mayor and town council field questions on the issues from economic development to ethics that directly relate to the concerns, needs and welfare of the citizens of the city of Lookout Mountain, Ga.
In addition, people in the audience will have the opportunity to submit questions to the candidates.
The Lookout Mountain Candidates Forum is a continuation of the LWVGA's efforts to inform citizens of Georgia as they vote on Nov. 3. Executive director Tracey Ann Nelson said, "This is one of several candidate forums held around the state. The city of Lookout Mountain is in a unique position as the smallest northwestern city of the state to host an important election this year, and we are happy to host this event.''
