Chattanooga Fire Department To Distribute Free Smoke Alarms
posted October 30, 2009

The Chattanooga Fire Department, along with the American Red Cross, the Chattanooga Association of Realtors, and the Boy Scouts, will distribute free smoke alarms in the Washington Hills/Highway 58 area on Saturday. The operation will originate from the Washington Hills Recreation Center.

This event will start at 10 a.m. and is expected to last about two hours. For more information, contact Fire Marshal David Brooks at 505-1251.

This event coincides with the weekend when you change your clocks back one hour to Eastern Standard Time on Nov. 1. The Chattanooga Fire Department encourages everyone to change the batteries in their smoke alarms at least once each year. An easy way to remember is to change these batteries when you change your clocks.
