3 Charged With Beating Teen In Bradley County posted November 5, 2009 Three people, including a father and son, have been charged in the severe beating of a 19-year-old in rural Bradley County. Twelve hours after Timothy Wayne Farmer was found unresponsive and bleeding, the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office investigation led to the arrest of the trio on Wednesday night. Just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, a 911 call sent sheriff’s deputies to a farm on Eureka Road where the youth was found with severe head injuries from an apparent beating. He was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital and was admitted with serious trauma to the head. During the course of the investigation, Robert Preston Shelton Sr., 43; Robert Preston Shelton Jr., 19, and Connie Andelina Nelson, 32, were identified as suspects. Later all three were charged with attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. They remain in custody at the Bradley County Jail. The three reside at an apartment on Georgetown Road in Cleveland. Sheriff Tim Gobble said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending. Farmer Larry Hoope had discovered the body on Wednesday morning while feeding his cattle. The victim lives in a trailer across from where his body was found. |
